Lighting the Way Forward at Nordic Valley

Night skiing at Nordic Valley with sunset n the back

As we enter this next chapter at Nordic Valley, we are excited to share our future plans for night skiing.

We’re currently working toward upgrades that would allow us to bring back full top-to-bottom and side-to-side night skiing on the Apollo side of the mountain for the 2026/27 season. This work is focused on long-term improvements that set Nordic Valley up for an even better experience after dark.

Building Toward a Better Night Skiing Experience

At the core of these plans is a proposed upgrade to the mountain’s electrical and lighting infrastructure, targeted for next summer. Night skiing depends on a strong electrical system that can support consistent lighting across the board, and this project is designed to address that from the ground up.

Once completed, this work would allow:

  • Lighting on Apollo from top to bottom and side to side
  • Deliver a consistent night skiing experience
  • Support future growth beyond night skiing

We’re taking a thoughtful, measured approach to this work with the goal of bringing night skiing back in a way that’s better than ever before.

What to Expect This Season

As we plan and prepare for this larger infrastructure work, night skiing operations will be held to a few select dates this winter.

That said, we plan to host a small number of night skiing rail jams to go along with the select dates. These events are intended to keep the night skiing spirit alive, bring the community together, and give riders a chance to enjoy Nordic under the lights while we work toward the next phase.

More details on the events will be shared on our website, socials, and newsletters as plans are finalized in the upcoming weeks.

Supporting Future Snowmaking Expansion

These electrical improvements are also an important step toward future snowmaking growth.

By strengthening our electrical capacity now, we’re positioning the mountain to expand snowmaking more efficiently in future seasons. This creates flexibility to take advantage of cold weather windows, increase coverage across more terrain, welcome you back earlier in the season, and keep the winter running longer.

It’s a foundational project that supports multiple areas of mountain operations, not just night skiing.

Looking Ahead

Our focus is on building momentum and investing in the future of Nordic Valley.

While these upgrades are still taking shape, they reflect a clear direction to strengthen the mountain’s infrastructure so we can continue to grow and deliver the best experience possible. We’ll be sharing updates as the project develops and look forward to what the next few seasons can bring to Nordic Valley.
