October 7th Update: Winter Is Approaching Quickly!
These past few weeks, the crew has been mowing and cutting brush across the mountain, clearing trails to set the stage for smoother laps ahead. Plus, we’ve added a second entry point and widened the access to make it easier to head over to the Nordic Express on the other side of the resort.

August 25 Update: Snowmaking Tune Ups Are Underway
With winter right around the corner, our team is gearing up with a new project. We’ve just started a complete tune up on our snowmaking system to maximize the current infrastructure, build a better base, and give you more days on the mountain. June 20th Update: Lift Maintenance Is No Small Task!
Lift maintenance is a season-long project that demands precision, time, and a whole lot of hustle from our operations crew. But for us, it’s all worth it. The early mornings, the long days, the behind-the-scenes work. It’s all driven by one thing: seeing the mountain come alive on opening day and knowing every turn you take is made better by the work we put in now.
This week, the progress continues. With an in depth electrical diagnostic test on the Apollo Lift, and the replacement of a few of its components, the team is in full summer mode. It’s all part of making sure your lift rides are smooth and steady, getting you back to the top quickly so you can stay focused on what matters.

June 3rd Update: Inside The Annual Lift Tune Ups
As part of our annual maintenance program, our team recently removed chairs from the Apollo, Crockett, and Bridger Lifts to perform a comprehensive inspection, known as nondestructive testing (NDT). This is something we complete on all of our lifts, every year, to ensure everything is running smoothly when the snow falls again.
What is Nondestructive Testing?
Nondestructive testing is exactly what it sounds like: inspecting equipment for signs of wear or damage without compromising its structural integrity. These tests use a mix of visual and scientific techniques to catch issues that can’t always be seen with the naked eye, helping us identify problems before they affect performance.
When you’re talking about a lift system that runs nonstop all winter, that’s a big deal. Cracks and issues can form in almost any component over time. That’s why NDT is one of the most critical processes in our summer work.
What Types of NDT Are Used?
The most common form of NDT is a detailed visual inspection, but that’s just the start. Summer inspections also include high-level techniques designed to spot internal flaws and micro-cracks early.
One method we use involves attaching a magnet to different components on the lift, then coating it with a fine powder or liquid. If there’s even the tiniest flaw or crack starting to form, that material will cling to it and reveal exactly where an issue is.
Other methods include ultrasound testing, where sound waves are used to measure the thickness of metal, helping us verify the strength and structural integrity of components like towers.
