A Message to the Nordic Valley Community From Our General Manager

A drone view of Nordic Valley Ski Resort

To our Nordic Valley Family,

I want to start by sharing my sincere gratitude to everyone who has spent time with us over the past year. In my first season as General Manager, the best part of my experience was seeing families, friends, and our local community come together here on the mountain. Whether you have been a passholder for decades or joined us for your very first winter season, you are what makes Nordic Valley special, and we are grateful that you chose to spend your time with us.

Evolving Our Mountain Footprint: A Farewell to the Crockett Chair Lift

As we look ahead, Nordic Valley is entering a period of significant change. Part of this evolution involves some necessary adjustments to our mountain’s footprint. As many of you have seen, we are currently in the process of dismantling the Crockett lift. This removal is a planned step in our development project as we move the resort into the future. Most of the terrain that was found on Crockett is still accessible from our Apollo and Bridger lifts. The Gardens area and tubing hill will not be returning.

While saying goodbye to a classic lift is always tough, it also brings a unique and exciting opportunity for our community. We will be selling the chairs from the Crockett lift, giving you the chance to take home and own a permanent piece of Nordic Valley history.

We want these chairs to stay with the people who loved riding them most. Whether it hangs on your front porch or becomes a bench in your backyard, it is the ultimate way to keep decades of mountain memories alive. We are currently finalizing the logistics of the sale, so please stay tuned for more details soon on how you can secure yours.

The Future of Nordic Valley

Our vision for the seasons ahead is focused on providing you with the best possible experience on the mountain while we continue to grow. A large part of that growth will be the Nordic Express, our 6-person high-speed chairlift. It is a world-class lift that many in our community have not yet had the full chance to experience or explore. We are confident that the fantastic terrain it offers will give our skiers and riders a chance to experience exactly what the future of Nordic Valley is going to look like.

The most common thing I hear about Nordic Valley from our community is, “Nordic Valley is where I learned to ski, and it’s where I taught my children!” We know these generational memories are precious, and we are completely committed to remaining the best place to learn to ski and ride. At Nordic Valley, kids 12 and under will continue to ski for free. No parent purchase required, no strings attached.

I want to reassure you: the Nordic Valley you love isn’t going anywhere. The community-based skiing, that family-focused atmosphere, and the local, accessible vibe, will remain the heart of who we are. We continue to work to improve our mountain so we can ensure that Nordic Valley is here for years to come. We are asking you to stick with us as we navigate these changes, and we’re confident that we will come out the other side as an even better home for our skiers and snowboarders.

More than anything, we want to reiterate how much you mean to us. Nordic Valley isn’t just a collection of lifts and runs, it is a community of dedicated skiers and riders who are the heart of our community. Your passion is the reason we are working to make these improvements.

Thank you for being part of the Nordic Valley Family. We are already hard at work for next winter, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for the 2026/2027 season.

Sincerely,

Cobalt Stromberg
