What to Expect for Opening Day

What to Expect this Sunday for Opening Day

We’re stoked for this upcoming Sunday to open the mountain for the 2020/2021 season! Our mountain teams have been hard at work blowing snow and getting the lifts ready in preparation for opening. We are so excited to welcome you back this winter, and though some things will look a bit different, some things – like having a great day on the slopes – will still be the same. Here’s a quick look at what to expect on opening day, December 13th.

First Chair!

Who will be crowned King and Queen of the mountain this year? First chair will go up at 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning on Bridger Lift. The first guests will receive the First Chair Banner, bragging rights, and some hot cocoa to enjoy their victory! First 50 guests receive free hot cocoa! Don’t miss out!

Opening Day Terrain

Bridger Lift and Cub Surface Lift will be open from 10am to 4 pm, accessing one beginner trail (Little Bear). As more terrain and lifts open, we’ll post updates on our Snow Report. The new high speed chair lift is expected to open later this December.

COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

For the health and safety of all of our guests and employees, we’ve put in place new procedures this winter to make Nordic Valley an enjoyable place to recreate for all.

  • Masks are required for all guests and employees.
  • All regular lift tickets must be purchased online. For season passholders only, free tickets (included with Power Pass purchases made before May 29) and 30% off full-rate buddy tickets may be redeemed at the ticket window.
  • Guests are encouraged to book tickets in advance. The further in advance you book, the deeper your discount will be. Expect lower rates on mid-week tickets and higher rates on weekends and holidays in order to better facilitate and manage crowds and lift lines.
  • Indoor capacity will be very limited this season. We encourage you to plan to be outside more this season, and order food to-go or take breaks at your vehicle.
  • The Nordic Valley Grill will be open for dine-in and to-go orders through our online ordering system.
